  Never a JW I am so sorry for the things you went through as a JW, it was not right. I am from a generation where we just hid what went on in the home. I just connected with a long list girlfriend and we both thought each others parents were great turned out how wrong we were. Both of us escaped the moment we graduated and barely looked back. I was raised by a mother who a high functioning alcoholic but the moment she walked in the front door she became the most abusive human being. She was also strung out on every prescription drug she could get her hands on. Great combo. In our generation we just avoided them. Some of us ran away from home, I became very independent, at the age of 14 started paying my own way and started bullying her, she met her match. That is when she called me the Rebel.

  My daughter is a teacher recently graduated luckily with a lot of scholarships but still a lot of debt. Low pay jobs in the US but if she DOES NOT report suspension of abuse she could say goodbye to her career for good. While these JERK Elders get off with some kind of we are claiming clergy lying two faced. I shall stop there before Simon see the true me!!!

  This case was filed as a civil case. I believe what you are stating are the penalties if this was being brought through the criminal justice system.

  Well based on your last two post, if I were on that jury given the evidence you just stated and the fact that THIRTEEN adults DID NOT hear the CRIES of a CHILD I think the reward for damages should be 13 million. One million for each adult who failed to hear the cries of a child.

  but i'm interested to know how people on here think child abuse allegations should be handled.

  I am getting the picture, as I just said a couple post back. I am not retyping what I already stated in a prior post. I missed what went on a few days ago since I have been really busy in my office, I try to keep up on all the child abuse thread. Really only reason I am still here.

  Unfortunately where I live I have to drive past one of 2 KHS every time I leave my house. How did I get so lucky that I have these 2 KH less then 3 miles from my house. No matter where I go I must pass one of them. Just knowing all of the emotional, physical and sexual abuse that is tolerated in the KH just really irritates me to no end.

  Landy,

  Everyone of your incidents should be reported to the authorities even the one where the woman does not want charges to be filed.

  The reason is other women may have already come forward to authorties and they may have a pending case on this perpetrator. If they are following this person you are protecting other women from future abuse. I DO NOT buy this theory that you can pray away this sinful behavior, these abusers go from one victim to their next victim. Just look at the ARC what they had like 1,006 perpetrators and somewhere around 1,700 victims that is disgusting!!!!

  I gave you a course of action for all of the incidents call the police.

  The Elders are men and have no business dealing with these matters. But you would know that if you had actually read my prior post.

  I am not going to retype the same thing repeatedly if you continually ask the same questions.

  First off can you READ!!! I said at least TWICE now the Certified Adult Volunteer immediately notifies the police or the authorities!!! We do not leave it up to the victim or the victims family to do this.

  For the record, the one case of child sexual abuse I did get involved with the. ....... took a plea agreement because he knew if it went before a jury he would never ever see the light of day again. He is on the sex offenders list for life with court orders to NEVER come in contact with any of his children for the remainder of his life. His plea agreement put him behind bars for 15 years but because of his bad behavior he did 20.
